Introduction to Vedanta

At the heart of Vedanta lies the insight that what you seek – lasting fulfilment, meaning, and peace – is not outside you, but already your true nature.

Vedanta shows that the sense of limitation, “I am small, mortal, separate,” is based on a misunderstanding. In truth, you are whole, timeless, and non-separate from the very cause of the universe.

It invites you to look beyond fleeting pleasures and external validation, and to examine the deeper reality of your own being, the Self that underlies body, mind, and emotions.

Vedanta is a method of inquiry that speaks to any sincere seeker willing to examine assumptions and question deeply.

In this retreat, we offer a structured and accessible introduction to the vision of Vedanta. The purpose is not to become something new, but to understand what you already are.

Venue and Environment

The immersion will be held at AMANI VILLAS, near Coonoor in the Nilgiris. The setting is intentionally chosen to support reflection and stillness, and includes:

    • Luxury accommodation
    • Dedicated spaces for dialogue and contemplation
    • Nourishing wellness cuisine and herbal refreshments
    • Nature trails for mindful walks

The Nilgiris themselves become a silent teacher, offering perspective, spaciousness, and calm.

Gratitude Based Participation

At INDICA, learning is guided by gratitude rather than transactions. This Master Class is offered in a spirit of reverence for the wisdom we have inherited and for those who choose to engage with it sincerely.

Participants are invited to express their gratitude through Guru Dakṣiṇā and by supporting INDICA’s work in an amount that reflects the value of the learning and their appreciation for the space being created. Such contributions enable us to continue offering these learning experiences and to sustain the broader mission of preserving and transmitting Indian Knowledge Systems. To express gratitude in monetary form, please click here.

Gratitude may also be expressed through time and action, by carrying forward what is received through mentoring, writing, conversations, or other forms of service.

This approach allows each participant to engage from intention, not obligation.

Accommodation and meals

Accommodation and meals are arranged by the retreat venue on an all inclusive basis at a rate of ₹6,000 per night for single occupancy, inclusive of stay, food & GST. This amount is payable directly to the venue at the retreat.
