Yoga-Sutra Chanting Workshop (Sadhana-pada /Chapter-2)

This workshop is the second in a series on the Yoga Sutras. In the previous workshop, we learned to chant sutras from the Samadhi pada.  In this workshop we will learn to chant the 55 sutras of the Sadhana pada.

Introduction:

In the universe, every object has a specific vibrational frequency. The condition of the object can be analysed through its frequency. It is said that the human body stays healthy if it lies at a frequency of 62-78MHz. Diseases start when the frequency drops down from this stipulated frequency. The drop-down in frequency will weaken the immune system, making the body vulnerable. The recitation of the yoga sutras can assist in maintaining the frequency of a healthy human body. Proper and conscious chanting can also establish mental balance and restore human health.

The Yoga-sutra contains 195 sutras divided into four chapters – Samadhi pada, Sadhana pada, Vibhuti pada and Kaivalya pada. Sutras carry a wealth of knowledge. These sutras are a glimpse of the experiential learning of Maharshi Patanjali, credited with this text, the most authentic source on Yoga philosophy. The recitation of those sutras is the beginning step in understanding the yoga sutra as a child learns only sounds in its initial growth. As Valmiki was initiated with the Rama mantra by Sage Narada, he went to a deeper understanding of the word that comes out as a Ramayana. Similarly, reciting the sutra will bring a profound experience of the text and transformation in oneself.
