SUMMARY:Theories of Language: Oriental and Occidental
DESCRIPTION:The INDICA Center for Bharatiya Languages (CBL) presents a conversation with retired Professor Mahamahopadhyaya Korada Subrahmanyam on the 24th of July 2022 at 1900 hrs. This INDICA CBL conversation intends to put the spotlight on\, amongst other things\, the research findings in Dr. Subrahmanyam’s rare book Theories of Language: Oriental and Occidental (2008). His research findings are likely to be of interest to those concerned with questions related to the origin and development of ancient theories of language\, the connection of Vyākaraṇam with Philosophy and Sphoṭa\, rare comparative analysis of some facets of western linguistics from a decolonised Bhāratīya Vyākaraṇam perspective\, and more.
