Sanātana Samskr̥ti has beautifully interwoven our life and our various activities with moments of conscious attention and mindfulness, showing us the way to living our lives fully and well, while also being very conscious of the world around us and using resources responsibly and reverentially. This retreat will focus on teaching participants the various mantra-s and stotra-s that are traditionally to be chanted from dawn to night, as part of various daily activities. Practices of āsana, prāṇāyāma, japa and bhāvana will be interwoven with the chanting as well as an explanation of the meaning and significance of the chants taught.

Select stotra-s and mantra-s will be taught with menaings practices of āsana, prāṇāyāṁa, japa and dhyāna will be designedusing these chants

The Retreat, located just on the outskirts of Bangalore city, is a small beautiful space dedicated to Yoga & spiritual studies and practices in a simple and clean environment adjacent to a farm of its own.

Accommodation: Only shared accommodation will be provided

Food: Simple sattvik food with fresh grown vegetables from the farm

Reaching the Retreat Venue: The venue is about 22 kms from Majestic Bus Stand and is accessible through Magadi Road and Tumkur Road preferably through own vehicles. The retreat center is very close to ‘Kamadhenu Kshetra’ – a highly popular Raghavendra Swamy temple in the last few years. It would take about an hour to reach the retreat venue from the heart of the city. Participants have to make their own arrangements. If any assistance is required Indica Yoga Team will help.

Nrithya Jagannathan

Director, KYM Institute of Yoga Studies, Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram

Nrithya Jagannathan is a senior yoga therapist from the Krishnamacharya tradition. With over 19 years of teaching experience, she is currently the Director of the KYM Institute of Yoga Studies, Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram, Chennai India. This is the training and certification wing of the Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram. She has traveled extensively around the world to teach Yoga and Vedic Chanting. Nrithya is a life member of the Indian Yoga Association and one of the experts on the Standing Academic Accreditation Committee of IYA. She is also one of the experts appointed to develop course content for Yoga Courses under the Healthcare Sector Skill Council of India. A classical bharathanatyam dancer and choreographer as well, Nrithya is passionate about Indian culture and yoga philosophy. She is also the Editor in Chief of Darsanam, the Quarterly Journal on Yoga and Yoga Cikitsa of the Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram.
