In this session Apoorva will demonstrate how asana and pranayama works as a practice for Dhyanam and the usage of mantras for the same.

Assistant Professor of Engineering, Yoga Teacher in the tradition of Sri TKV Desikachar
Apoorva Raghunandan is a Professor of Electronics Engineering and a Yoga teacher of the Krishnamacharya tradition. She is passionate about Indian knowledge systems, poetry, classical music, science and technology. She has studied yoga from Dr Latha Satish and Yogacharya S. Sridharan (both of them are long time students of the legendary yoga master Sri TKV Desikachar). She also practises Vedic chanting and Carnatic Classical music and has a strong interest in Indian philosophy.

Sophia has been a journalist for over 15 years, and she has been practising hatha yoga for 20 years. She completed a yoga and Vedanta course at the Sivananda Yoga and Vedanta Ashram in Netala, and she's been practising hatha yoga in the Iyengar and Krishnamacharya systems. She is currently studying Indian philosophy and is a regular journalist
