Exploring Dimensions Of Health And Wellbeing

With an explosion of ailments and illnesses plaguing Indians, due to lifestyles constrained by occupational stress, polluted cities and almost no physical expression, the situation of modern Indians living in cities has become quite challenging posing problems physically, mentally and emotionally.

This is increasingly visible with more and more people falling prey to Diabetes, Hypertension, skeleton-muscular disorders, Hyperlipidaemia (high cholesterol), hormonal dysfunctions, cardiac issues etc.

While the easiest option in such cases is to swallow pills or take pharmaceutical formulations, it is increasingly being acknowledged in modern medical science, that these medications do not provide long term solutions and a reorientation and a fresh perspective on lifestyle is direly needed.

In such a scenario, the Programme on “Exploring Dimensions of Health and Wellbeing” offered by Sridhar Deshmukh offers insights into

Key Focus:

  • Aetiology: Genetic, Environmental, Nutritional, Physiological & Psychological Factors in Health & Disease.
  • Understanding and managing stress
  • Diet & Nutrition: Aspects of Positive Health and Vitality Quotient.
  • Praxis- Exercise modules, Pranayama and other yogic techniques

The workshop aims at placing the locus of control in the hands of the participants to address his/her issues effectively.

*Suitable age group 20 years and above.

The Details of the Workshop are as follows:

Date & timings: Starts on the morning of Friday, 29th March, at 10:00 am and concludes on Sunday, 31st March, 2024, 4:30 pm

(Note: Participants are requested to arrive by 29th March (Friday) Morning by 8:00 AM)

Workshop Fee: Rs.15,000/- per Participant. The fees in inclusive of boarding, lodging and teaching. (Refund is considered till 15th March, 2024 with standard bank dedication charges applicable, afterwards no refund will be provided, an email request has to be sent to: namaste@indicayoga.com)

Accommodation: Shared accommodation will be provided

Food: Simple sattvic food with fresh grown vegetables from the farm

Venue: Indica Ritambhara Retreat, No. 69, BMTC Layout, Adjacent to Kammasandra Village, Lakshmipura Hobli.

The Retreat, located just on the outskirts of Bangalore city, is a small beautiful space dedicated to Yoga & spiritual studies and practices in a simple and clean environment adjacent to a farm of its own.

Reaching the Retreat Venue: The venue is about 22 kms from Majestic Bus Stand and is accessible through Magadi Road and Tumkur Road preferably through own vehicles. The retreat center is very close to ‘Kamadhanu Kshetra’ – a highly popular Raghavendra Swamy temple in last few years. It would take about an hour to reach the retreat venue from the heart of the city. Participants have to make their own arrangements. If any assistance is required Indica Yoga Team will help.

Sri Sridhar Deshmukh

Key Faculty- Health and Wellbeing trainer

Sridhar Deshmukh is a Consultant in Preventive Healthcare and Therapeutic Yoga based in Bangalore. He is a key resource person for healthcare professionals including specialist doctors. He has been a Member of the Course Committee and Faculty for National Level Physician Training Workshops (with CME credits): Advanced Course on Diagnosis of Allergy & Immunotherapy conducted every year by Allergy Asthma & ENT Clinic in collaboration with Vydehi Institute of Medical Sciences & Research Centre, Bangalore. Member of the Course Committee and Faculty for National Level Physician Training Workshop.

He presented an invited lecture on “Complementary Significance of Therapeutic Yoga in the Management of Respiratory Allergies” at the National Conference of Physicians - IAACON 2011. Areas of Special Interest: Preventive Healthcare, Alternative Therapeutics, Yoga Therapy, Diet & Nutrition. Keen personal interest in Philosophy, in particular, Indian Philosophy. Resource person: Panchajanya Ayurveda Ashrama, Kadegadde, Kudregundi, Chikmagalur District, Karnataka. Member of Faculty at ParExcellence Leadership Solutions, Mumbai.

He is a visiting Faculty at Indian Institute of Management Bangalore. Ex-Trustee, Om Shanthi Dhama, Vedic World Project, Mekedatu, Sangama, near Bangalore.

He also trains Yoga Therapists and Alternative Healthcare Specialists and has conducted many seminars and workshops for senior corporate executives, government officers and overseas groups from Europe. He orients Rishidvanam, a small, informal group engaged in exploring alternatives in Education and Health besides living, that can foster individuation. Sridhar Deshmukh pursued an autodidactic course. Seeking to resolve his own fundamental existential questions himself, he pursued a study of various Natural Sciences, Health and Mind Sciences and Philosophical Literature as well as experiential explorations. In the midst of this span, he also studied Economics and English Literature at University. The culmination of these explorations brought him into Wellbeing and Wellness as a vocation when he opted out of his business.
