Neuroscience of Pranayama is an online weekend workshop, where one will learn how modern science validates the ancient breathing practices mentioned in scriptures like Patanjali Yog Sutras.
This workshop will pave the way for both beginner and intermediate learners to integrate their practice of yoga through breath awareness.
This workshop is being conducted by a neurosurgeon who is practicing yoga for more than 2 decades.
Key Focus:
This workshop will help one to refine breathing techniques, understand the science behind the Pranayama practices, using best of modern and ancient knowledge systems.

- Basics of Nadis and Energy centres (Chakras)
- Bond between body and mother nature
- Antarkumbhak, Bahyakumbhak
- Chanting in Pranayama
Week-4 (05 Feb, 2023)
- Grading and Progress in Yoga
- Precaution to be taken in Pranayama Practice
- Introduction to Bandhas
- Mudras for Pranayama

Fondly called as ‘Yogic Neurosurgeon’ by his patients and well-wishers, Dr Mayur Vinaykumar Kaku is an accomplished neuro surgeon and yoga practitioner. He is Complex Brain and Spine surgeon at PES Medical College Speciality Hospital, Kuppam and Head of Department Yoga and Neuroscience.
With a profound interest and belief in the power of Yoga as a healer for many aliments, Dr Mayur has been practicing yoga for the last 20 years and is an accredited and practising Yoga Therapist from SVYASA University. He believes with conviction in leveraging the powerful blend of Eastern Healing and Western Medicine practices for holistic treatment.
He runs an Online Yoga Class called Brahma Muhurta Yoga – to help people tune into their best neuroendocrine status and remain free from diseases while achieving long life !
