Sound And Silence – The Journey Within Through Yoga And Chanting

Sound and silence hold an important space in Yogic practices, allowing for management of body, breath and mind to bring harmony between the outer and inner worlds. Moving from sound towards silence, effort to effortlessness is the goal of Yoga. Veda mantras are seated in sound and the absence of it – high and low notes, pauses, and the powerful sounds of Sanskrit syllables. Allowing the sounds to settle into the mind so they slowly become a part of the Self and rise from within in silence is the journey of many lifetimes. This cosmic dance of sound and silence has slowly become an exploration of the journey of life, one breath at a time.
