Gita Wisdom Retreat: Spiritual Pursuit Based on Bhgavad Gita

This is a presentation of the essence of Bhagavad Gita for a modern spiritual aspirant. Vedanta philosophy, selections from Gita, and developing a personalized spiritual routine based the teachings of Gita will be covered.

Key Focus:

  • The retreat will cover the basics of Vedanta philosophy as the foundation to discover a spiritual purpose and path in life.
  • About 50 essential verses from the Gita, including the complete 15th and 12th chapters will be discussed word by word.
  • A personalized daily routine for spiritual practice including chanting from the Gita and meditation will be covered. Guidelines for spiritualizing everyday life based on the Gita will be discussed.

Venue: Ritambhara Retreat, No. 69, BMTC Layout, Adjacent to Kammasandra Village, Lakshmipura Hobli.

The Retreat, located just on the outskirts of Bangalore city, is a small beautiful space dedicated to Yoga & spiritual studies and practices in a simple and clean environment adjacent to a farm of its own.

Reaching the Retreat Venue: The venue is about 22 kms from Majestic Bus Stand and is accessible through Magadi Road and Tumkur Road preferably through own vehicles. The retreat center is very close to ‘Kamadhenu Kshetra’ – a highly popular Raghavendra Swamy temple in the last few years. It would take about an hour to reach the retreat venue from the heart of the city. Participants have to make their own arrangements. If any assistance is required Indica Yoga Team will help.

Sri Gokulmuthu Narayanaswamy

Director of Product Development at Itron India, Bangalore

Gokulmuthu Narayanaswamy is a devotee and volunteer of Ramakrishna Math. He conducts classes on Bhagavad Gita, Swami Vivekananda, Spiritual Life, Leadership Development and Life Skills to students and professionals. He is a founder of Vivekananda Study Circle in IIT Madras. He is a mentor of Vivekananda Study Circle at IISc Bangalore. He is a regular contributor of articles and book reviews to Vedanta Kesari, a monthly magazine published by Ramakrishna Math, Chennai. His blog at www.practicalphilosophy.in has several of his articles. He is working as Director of Product Development at Itron India, Bangalore. He holds B.Tech in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from IIT Madras, M.Sc (Engg) in Computer Science from IISc Bangalore and M.A in Philosophy, Religion and Culture from Annamalai University. He is currently pursuing Ph.D in Biopsychology and Yoga at IIT Kharagpur. He took mantra diksha from Swami Gahananandaji of Ramakrishna Math. He learnt Vedanta from Swami Paramarthanandaji of Arsha Vidya Gurukulam. He learnt Yoga from Swami Swayambodhanandaji, disciple of Swami Satyananda Saraswati of Bihar School of Yoga.
