Yoga To De-stress

Yoga is somatopsychic, that is, we use the body and breath to influence the state of mind. This session focuses on simple yoga poses and synchronising the breath with the movements. This activates the parasympathetic nervous system that relaxes the body and mind. We go through simple breathing exercises that help us deal with stress, anxiety and lethargy. This session is a combination of theory and practical.

Iti Jain

Yoga Teacher and Founder of Satori

Iti's yoga journey began in 2015 when she attended a yoga teacher training and started training with senior teachers. Besides building strength and flexibility, what really brought her back to my mat was the strength she found inside. Yoga has helped broaden her perspective and outlook in life. Yoga made her wake up as early as 4:30 am and work harder than ever. Most importantly, she loved it. The asana practice, breathing techniques and mindfulness practices gave her an outlet to cope and feel strong again in the body and mind. Her yoga mat is her happy place. She has had the opportunity to learn and train with different yoga teachers, she has taught group classes, prenatal yoga, conducted corporate yoga sessions and yoga sessions at fitness events and wellness events. She has also created content for apps and her blogs have been published in Elephant Journal.

Sophia French

Host, Journalist

Sophia has been a journalist for over 15 years, and she has been practising hatha yoga for 20 years. She completed a yoga and Vedanta course at the Sivananda Yoga and Vedanta Ashram in Netala, and she's been practising hatha yoga in the Iyengar and Krishnamacharya systems. She is currently studying Indian philosophy and is a regular journalist
