Lead with Peace & Purpose

Multiple vectors are simultaneously affecting our global society including COVID19, climate change, etc. Leaders and organizations are being challenged to simultaneously confront the inherent chaos and transform the unprecedented hurdles into opportunities and solutions that will create systemic change. Leaders are looking to redesign and reimagine their work, and strategic plans, and most importantly, to recalibrate their purpose and impact.

“If the whole world is a home, India has always been the prayer room for reflection and inner transformation.”

Several inspirational leaders like Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Nelson Mandela as well as business leaders like Steve Jobs and Mark Zuckerberg, and many others have shared their appreciation of the wisdom that has helped them in their personal and professional endeavors.

It is time to showcase the application of the wisdom of Yoga, Pranayama, and meditation and how it helps to enhance our health and mental well-being as well as other direct applications to improving business critical values like the culture and mindset of innovation, creativity, entrepreneurship, decision making, safety, and foresight.

JOURNEY OF INNER TRANSFORMATION

Yogi is a person who is actively engaged with the world and yet anchored in inner quietude. Such a person comprehends double binds, paradoxes, and polarities, and finds a way to go beyond them in their decision making and action. Inner presence is essential for such excellence in action.

This program is customized for senior leaders (corporate, startup settings), who seek to build on their executive presence to support one-self and others to thrive in contemporary context of accelerating change. This is also designed as a selfmastery journey for experienced coaches who recognize that their coaching presence needs deepening. Inner presence is of paramount importance for making a difference in such leaders & coaches.

At CCSIT, we have distilled the core perspectives, principles and practices explicated in the wisdom texts like the Yoga Sutras, and Bhagavad Gita. Participants will be supported to become aware of the inner psycho drama and shift their field of action.

Yogic wisdom talks about a few fields of reality – we will see first 2 below:

  • At the superficial level, the Entropic Field (avidyA kshetram), comprises distinct, differentiated entities which are in competition with one another.
  • The Entropic Field emanates from the Enlivening Field (dharmA kshetram), a level of existence where everything is profoundly interconnected.
  • There are a few other fields.

When we recognize such fields within ourselves and begin the journey to move from Entropic to the Enlivening and so on, it invites others around us to follow the example and act from deeper fields. This inner shifts happens through deep introspection and is enabled by simple inner Yogic practices (not postures)

In this program, the participants and the facilitators will co-create conversational spaces as containers that would seed and nurture such shifts. Through the process of co- holding and co-nurturing participants are invited to experientially become aware of their inner workings, which is the foundational step in participants transformative journey towards developing inner presence.

Yoga and Positive Psychology

Positive psychology includes concepts, theories and methods of intervention about positive traits, experiences and relations in life. It focuses on realizing the positive human potential. Yoga is also a field which aims at realizing the deepest human potential. Unlike Positive psychology which is primarily focused on emotions and thoughts Yoga based practices also include interventions at the physical and pranic levels of self. Insights of Yoga are relevant not only for the individual self but also relevant for the collective forms of life like family, society and governance. In this session Prof Ashish will elaborate the Yogic perspective of Positive psychology at the levels of individual and collective forms of life based on the empirical and conceptual research work of his team carried out in IIT Bombay.

Principles of Vedic Leadership

Vedic Leadership (VL) emerges from a highly developed self-awareness of leaders who transcend surface reality and connect with unbounded consciousness, the broad essential wholeness of the world. The most important Vedic principles for leadership relate to the nature of the Self and of Action – i.e. who we are and what we do. The key Vedic concepts – of moral duty (dharma), and dispassionate action (karma) articulate a simple Vedic leadership formula as follows: Authentic leaders are self-realized people who do their work dispassionately according to their moral duty. VL potentially leads to a sustainably growing organization that engages the wholeness of being, and fullness of knowledge, for mistake-free action on everyone’s part. In such an organization, everyone performs their specific assigned role to the best of their natural ability and talent, while keeping the greater good of the whole organization in mind. Our V-theory of transcendence enables multiple techniques for leaders to increase their self-awareness. A case study of a multinational business organization in the IT industry shows how operating from the Vedic ideal of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam (Maha Upanishad VI.71-73) or ‘whole world as one family’, this business experienced rapid and sustainable growth for over a decade. There are implications for leadership and transformation in organizations as well as for society for addressing complex challenges.

INSPIRATIONAL LEADERSHIP: Lessons From the Bhagavad Gita

Despite considerable attention, new research and insights, Leadership is an area of great concern for both business organisations, and public institutions. This is evident from the leadership crises situations emanating from time to time. Leadership crises throw two generic challenges to an organisation. At the institutional level, it threatens to tear the moral fabric of the organisation and bring down the morale of the employees. At an individual level it introduces enormous stress, burnout and deprived meaning at the workplace. The search for the right framework for leadership continues. This talk addresses this issue by taking fresh perspectives from Bhagavad Gita.

Using the ideas from Bhagavad Gita, this talk will introduce the notion of “Inspirational Leadership”. The talk will begin by enumerating some of the recent approaches to Leadership and create an opportunity to explore new areas in Leadership. With the ideas from Gita, the talk will focus on the traits of an inspirational leader. An inspirational Leader will be able to see himself/herself much beyond the pushes and pulls of day to day and reporting period tensions and challenges and anchor deeply in “one-self”. This will enable the person to handle life situation originating in both the professional and personal dimensions and focus on leading the team with clarity.

Developing Yogic Presence: Journey Of Inner Transformation

Developing Yogic Presence: Journey Of Inner Transformation

Foundation Program for Leaders & Coaches

Center For Consciousness Studies & Inner Transformation is excited to share an experiential journey of inner transformation based on profound Indic Wisdom enabling leaders & coaches to:

  • Have a basic knowledge of Yogic Cosmology
  • Develop a process for enquiring into their worldview and their identity
  • Discover the Archetypical Inner Figures that shape their identity
  • Become aware of the feeling qualia that evoke / provoke their inner drama
  • Understand how their inner drama influences their behaviour
  • Discover how their actions and behaviours shape the culture around them
  • Develop a program of ongoing practices that enable them to deepen their transformational journey

This is based on decades of work which has been synthesised and co-evolved with global cohorts in the last two years under the umbrella of Centre for Consciousness Studies and Inner Transformation (CCSIT).

Yogic Presence is a person being anchored in a core of inner quietude while being lucidly aware of the world. Such a person comprehends double binds, paradoxes and polarities, and finds a way to include and transcend them in their decision making and action.

This program is customised for senior leadership who seek to transform self, teams and organisation to thrive in contemporary context of accelerating change. This is also designed for the self mastery journey of experienced coaches who recognise that their inner presence in coaching the leaders is of paramount importance for making a difference.

At CCSIT, we have distilled the core philosophies, principles and practices explicated in the Bhagavad Gita, Yoga Sutras, Sãnkhya and Vedanta. Participants will be introduced to the process of discovering their inner psycho drama and the path to developing deeper levels of awareness. Yogic wisdom proposes four fields of reality:

  • The most superficial level, the Entropic Field (avidyA kshetram), comprises distinct, differentiated entities which are in competition with each other.
  • The Entropic Field emanates from the Enlivening Field (dharmA kshetram), a level of existence that is profoundly interconnected.
  • The Enlivening Field in turn rests on the Coherent Field (dhyAna kshetram), a level of exist-ence that holds infinite potential and is unmanifest.
  • The aforesaid three fields manifest out of the Generative Field (satchitAnanda kshetram), in the realm of unified Consciousness.

When leaders recognise these fields within themselves and begin moving from the Entropic to the En-livening and Coherent Fields, it enables their organisations to transform/stabilise in the deeper fields. This inner movement happens through deep introspection enabled by Yogic practices.

The participants and the faculty will co-create the energy fields that would seed and nurture the program space /container. Through the process of co-holding and co-nurturing participants will be enabled to ground in their Inner Presence, which is the first step on their journey towards Yogic Presence.
